English Fashion Retailer

Store closure sales programme with minimum guarantee for Men's, Ladies and Kids Fashion retailer in the UK

Transaction background

  • GA Europe were asked to close 3 stores across the UK.
  • This project was part of a larger store plan across America.
  • The goal to sell through all stock and leave the stores empty for the new owners.
  • Part of our requirement was to work with the current team structure to protect the brand and deliver the required results.
  • The time frame of the  store closure programme was 9 weeks.

Operational details

  • The GA Europe team executed our proven trade out programme, including discount/stock management, POS signs, and a guided in-store closure process.
  • Worked with the global brand to deliver the required results within the UK market without effecting the day to day trading of  other stores within the locality of the closure store.
  • GA Europe's retail operational expertise had an immediate and significant impact upon the chain's trading performance, increasing like-for-like sales which also gave the opportunity to clear more stock than originally planned through the closure period.
  • Through article and store-specific price control, GA Europe achieved an optimal margin through distribution of store and previous seasonal stock, with the monitoring  of daily and weekly sales by store and with the warehouse stock of over 250k units which was allocated to stores based on sales performance.

Outcome

  • All  stores sold through all stock including a greatly enhanced stock package at the agreed timeline.
  • Stores were left clean and clear in preparation for  the new company taking over the location.
  • As a result of working with the brand closely, we established a very good working relationship which enhanced the overall sales and working performance.
  • The clearance sale did not impact on the trading from the surrounding stores, which were not part of the clearing sales programme as these were marketed separately.
