  • GA Europe worked alongside the European GameStop business to close all 90 stores within the Nordics as part of a global brand strategy to close non profitable/ trading market.

Operational details

 

  • GA Europe traded 19 stores in Norway, 25 stores in Sweden , 32 stores in Denmark , 14 stores in Finland.
  • GA Europe executed its proven trade out programme including discount/stock management, POS signs, and a guided in-store trade out process.
  • GA Europe replenished all stores weekly with new lines and games coming onto the market.
  • GA Europe traded the online business in all markets until no stock was available.<
  • GA Europe traded all stores even while covid 19 was becoming challenging within the market by clear guidelines to customers and teams in store.

Outcome

 

  • GA closed even with Covid 19 all stores were closed on time, free of merchandise and broom clean for delivery to the landlord.
  • GA Europe sold all fixtures and fittings as part of the closure programme whilst handing stores back to the landlords.
  • GA Europe through the process protected the brand identity as the business continued across the rest of Europe.
